Good news for wildlife in Kenya, and particularly in its capital city, at a time when between climatic woes and man-animal conflicts, there is little to be cheerful about.
More cheetahs are back in Nairobi National Park.
Kenya Wildlife Service's Italian Honorary Warden and wildlife photographer Paolo Torchio confirms this.
"Those who regularly visit the Nairobi National Park will have pleasantly noted that, after years of total absence, sightings of this magnificent animal are no longer rare or impossible."
As proof of his words, Torchio took one of his iconic photos, with the savannah and the metropolis in the background, with a magnificent cheetah specimen in the foreground.
"This photo," explains the Honorary Warden, "turned a routine, vigilant day into something special and shows that while cheetah numbers remain dramatically low, it is no longer a pipe dream to encounter them.
According to the latest figures published by the Kenya Wildlife Trust, there are only 1160 cheetahs on Kenyan soil.
