Country music, at dinnertime, does not only go well with grilled meat and beer, as about the gastronomic habits of the original places of the well-known American genre born in Nashville, Tennessee.
In Nairobi, the songs of John Denver, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and many others, go perfectly well with wine and pizza, two Italian specialities of Karen's Matteo's restaurant, which this evening, starting at 5pm until late, offers a concert by Kenya's most titled exponent of country music: Sir Elvis. The pyrotechnic guitarist and singer, born Elvis Otieno, grew up in Norway but returned to Africa to particularly spread the Opry music, made famous by artists such as Jim Reeves, Charley Pride and Dolly Parton, as well as the more modern sound of Nashville and its environs. Today he is a true legend of African Country Folk and will perform a vibrant performance.
