Another evening, Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 6:30 p.m. at Sunset in Watamu, with "Once Upon a Time There Were Italians in Kenya," the set to music stories of Freddie del Curatolo and Marco "Sbringo" Bigi that tell the vicissitudes and paradoxes of our countrymen's presence in the African country, but also the emotions, romance and backstories that the relationship with Kenya, particularly the coastal and tourist one below the equator, provokes in them.
All of this locked up in songs about "Africa-sickness," fatuous and deceptive falling in love, very cold African beers that change perspectives to Africa, Masai met on the beach and tourists "who didn't think there were black people in Kenya."
