Future can be only with love

Inspirations on Leni Frau's pictures

01-11-2021 by Freddie del Curatolo

What will my child have more of than I did?
More sheet metal or more whatsapp?
Will he have books to study or free Netflix on his phone?
More rice and beans or more junkie food and chips?
Will it have a closer and more useful hospital or 5G wi-fi?
Will he have more disease or more fear of diseases?
Will he have a job or a gun to grab money?
I don't know what good the future can do if the present doesn't even try.
I do know that the present is being alive.
And the future will be when my child is born.
And that before anything else,
before any dream, injustice or misfortune, he will receive love.
To all the less important and precious things,
that unfortunately govern our lives,
to the superfluous ones that ignore the necessary,
to continue to pretend nothing
until we become nothing,
the world will take care of it.
