'Sistema Italia' in Kenya, time to seize the opportunity!

Uniting to count and not being overtaken by opportunities

29-02-2024 by Freddie del Curatolo

Never as in this historical moment, in which Africa is seen as a development opportunity for itself and its population in need of a way out of poverty, and at the same time for the limping Western economies that need new lymph, can Italy play a leading role in Kenya.
To do so, of course, requires the commitment of our institutions and the willingness of local ones, and the foundations that have been launched over the past year, from this point of view, are significant.
The launching of bilateral agreements on various issues (from import-export, to taxation, to security and international cooperation) have already been followed by meetings both in Rome and in Nairobi that go in this direction, and the forthcoming arrival in Kenya of one of our delegations tasked with putting the Mattei Plan for Africa into practice, considering Kenya as one of the 'pilot' nations, gives much hope.

From this point of view and as far as we are concerned, it would be a pity if those who believe in this country and work there, with their own activities and as investors, could not have a say or at least demonstrate that they have bet on the development of this country, and also (each in his own way) contributed to the many improvements over time.
We are talking about the thousands of salaries bestowed, the entrepreneurial and social initiatives, the partnerships with local companies, and all the fruitful relationships forged in various fields, not just tourism of course.

Here the time has come to unite, as for one reason or another, and above all because of that insane and ingrained all-Italian habit of not wanting to pull together, looking almost exclusively at one's own little garden, even when that garden is a fertile and resourceful savannah, we have never managed to do.
The undersigned, who has also been working in Kenya in this aspect for 34 years, has seen the birth and death, and he himself has tried to put together, associations of categories, of belonging and of areas in which Italians operate, proposing himself and acting several times as intermediary, interlocutor, responsible, until he found himself hopelessly alone and poorly represented.
But hope has not faded and, even though the years are advancing and each time I think it may be the last attempt, I intend to try again.
As you will read in the other articles, through the 'showcase' of the portal of Italians in Kenya and its social branches, but above all through all the work that goes on behind the scenes but is not seen, this year we are returning to have a good number of affiliations and we are counting on other companies, businesses and even individuals who have interests in this country or think they will have in the near future, to join. Because it's not just about subscribing, paying a fee or having a media and advertising return. It is about being part of the 'Italy in Kenya system' and making it felt that we are a force that has been there for a long time, to count and count, and not to be overtaken by the new and external advancing.

Soon a major new initiative will be launched to promote 'Made in Italy' in Kenya and we have been approached and agreed to lead it from Kenya.
For all those who have an interest in being an Italian reality worthy of consideration in this country, the advice is to take the opportunity at once, contact me at info@malindikenya.net or on whatsapp at +254720178982.

Trust me and try to feel for once part of a single entity and identity, that of the Italians in Kenya.
