Licences for 20 new airlines in Kenya

More chances to fly and get connections even in Malindi

08-09-2017 by redazione

The Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has granted permission to twenty new charter, scheduled or low cost African and international airlines to take off and land in the country.
This will give great opportunities for new routes also to the coast, with easier connections from Nairobi to Malindi, also coming from Europe and other African nations.
The licences are valid for both cargo cargo and passenger service aircraft.
This opening up to new airlines - explains Roberto Marini, a member of the Ministry of Tourism Task Force in Nairobi - is also the consequence of the work carried out by the Task Force and the Kenya Tourist Federation to ensure new routes and new possibilities for tourism development, also in Malindi ".
Among the new airlines that can arrive from other African cities, there are the South African Flitestar, the Seychellese Porini, the Ethiopian Kasas, the Kenyan GeoAir, the Central African airline AIM Air Christian Missions, the Indian Ventura Air Connect and also the Somali airline Jubba Airways.
In addition to these low costs in East Africa and South Africa, there are also the charter flights of the Travel Service of the Czech Republic, which will be authorized to operate flights from Prague to Mombasa, as well as the Dutch TUI, of which malindikenya. net has already spoken (click here to read the news).
There are also new minor lines that will operate internal services, such as the Italo-Kenian Luca Safari of the owners of the exclusive Campi ya Kanzi that will transport its customers from Wilson airport in Nairobi.
As part of the new authorisations, the expansion of new routes throughout Africa and the rest of the world is worth mentioning: the Sudanese company Imatong Airlines, for example, also plans a flight on the Nairobi-Malindi-Lamu route, as well as flights from the capital to Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa. All from Jomo Kenyatta airport. For coincidences with Europe, it could be a panacea.
540 will also be able to increase its connections, creating a network of Nairobi-Juba-Dar es Salaam-Entebbe-Zanzibar-Johannesburg for both passengers and freight.
