As of 12 October, three days before the entry into force of the new Prime Ministerial Decree, which will almost certainly confirm the closure of Italy (and most of Europe) from Italy, it is not possible to travel to Kenya as tourists.

Entry, as reported by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the website viaggiaresicuri.it and as confirmed by some checks carried out in Italian airports, is only allowed if there are precise reasons, such as:

WORK: It means to already have a work permit in Kenya and the relative stamp on your passport. Some countrymen have not been sent from Italy because they have not produced evidence of their work permit, even though they have presented "screenshots" or printed the request to the Kenyan Immigration Office.
Others were blocked because they only had a job application from a Kenyan company.

ABSOLUTE URGENCY: This category includes family reunions with self-certification of urgency and documents attesting the relationship with Italians resident in Kenya or Kenyan citizens.  With regard to health problems, the decree is not very clear. It is advisable to ask the Police Headquarters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the competent Italian offices.
Those who have done so, according to the news reported on malindikenya.net, have received a reply that these are, in any case, possibilities linked to those who are resident or have proven motivations linked to previous interventions, treating doctors or therapies followed in that country (these are usually countries where health care is better or costs less) with relative receipts. But this information is not completely reliable.

FOLLOW-UP TO YOUR HOME OR DOMICILE: Residents in Kenya who only have a residence permit (pensioners, etc...) may return if in possession of such a permit. Those who own a house also declared in Italy could apply for a transfer to that one. But it is advisable to ask in advance at the police headquarters.

ALL OTHER REASONS MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED.
As a result of numerous reports, checks at airports are intensifying, as is the pressure on airlines that should carry out an initial check on passengers. The second should be carried out by the Italian authorities at passport control.

KENYA ACCEPTS TOURISTS FROM ITALY
It will stamp the tourist visa for 3 months, renewable for another 3 months.
The cost of the visa is always 50 USD or 40 euros.

MANDATORY FOR ENTRY

TAMPONE: To enter Kenya it is necessary to present at Nairobi or Mombasa airport the PCR Swab (non-serological, no other type of analysis) carried out no more than 96 before departure. This is the Kenyan protocol and is also reported by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, lately it may happen that there are indications about 96 hours before arrival in Kenya. This has already happened and it is a problem of interpretation of the protocol (which in English says "before travel"). In order to be totally sure to enter Kenya, it is therefore advisable to have the buffer carried out no more than 96 hours before arrival in Kenya.

QR CODE: You must obtain the QR code which will be scanned by the Kenyan authorities to inform the Ministry of Health and other offices of your presence on Kenyan territory. You can obtain it by filling in and sending this FORM:
