At Matteo's in Karen, this Wednesday becomes "Winesday", with a special evening dedicated to two Italian wine excellences, with a dinner created in person by resident chef Piero and a tasting journey proposed by sommelier J. Cambil.
The protagonists of good drinking will be the Poggio le Volpi wineries from Rome and the Epicuro winery from Puglia.
The four-course menu prepared for the occasion is interesting and exclusive: starting with a smoked sailfish canape with rocket, rye bread and wasabi mayonnaise, accompanied by a Malvasia blend 2023 by Poggio Le Volpi.
This was followed by homemade ravioli with ricotta and spinach, with taleggio cheese cream and white truffle oil, accompanied by Prosecco Canelo extra dry 2023.
As a second course, seared duck breast in two peppers sauce with crispy portobello mushrooms, in an unusual but captivating accompaniment of Epicuro Rosato Puglia IGP and to finish, panna cotta and blueberries with a taste of Primitivo Epicuro.
