Saturday 10th Malindi monthly clean-up choosing an area

It's important to join the initiative, better few than nothing

07-04-2021 by Leni Frau

An unusual and widespread monthly clean-up of the town, due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 emergency that do not allow gatherings of more than 15 people. This will be the case on the second Saturday in April when, as has been the case for the past two years when it has been possible to do so, responsible citizens of Malindi will gather in small groups to set a good example and clean an area of the tourist resort.
The Malindi Green And Blue movement, which through cleaning exercises seeks to educate the population to respect their habitat, which also means health and a better future, is asking every resident of Malindi to take care, on Saturday 10 April from 8am to 10am, of a portion of the territory, perhaps the space in front of his house or his business, or even an area that is particularly dear to him.
Many hotels and restaurants have already joined the initiative, from the Al Hashimya supermarket in Mombasa Road to the Hassanali hardware at the Roundabout, from the Red Cross in Malindi to the Cozy Point boutique hotel, and many others are joining in these hours.
We ask those who decide to join the initiatives to notify us in time to add the name of the group and the location, so that we can report it to the authorities accompanying the clean-up and who will come to collect the rubbish collected, but also to send photos of the collection.
In any case, malindikenya.net will be on track that morning to document everything and will also stop by to take photos of those who let us know to join in this laudable initiative, under the motto "Our town, our responsibility". You can send your adhesion with the cleaning area to info@malindikenya.net or with a sms to 0717067198 and we will communicate it.
