What better place than the farm, the Langobaya "shamba" of the Italian nonprofit Karibuni, for a ceremony to hand over the proceeds raised through the sale of Freddie and Sbringo's album "Once Upon a Time There Were Italians in Kenya." The two performers, musician and author Marco Bigi and journalist Alfredo "Freddie" Del Curatolo, visited the Italian organization's food projects that support students in the inland town of Malindi, on the way to Tsavo East National Park.

We have reported it many times, this particular area is one of the most problematic in all respects, which then are the children of poverty, unsustainable development and climate change.
Karibuni has done great things in recent years and is now facing, as the people who support and "help help themselves" to drought and food shortages.

With part of the proceeds from the CD, physical online, Freddie and Sbringo, in their own small way, have raised a month and a half's worth of meals for 100 elementary school students in Langobaya. For many, as Karibuni President Gianfranco Ranieri says in the video below, "the school meal provided by Karibuni is the only meal they have during the day."
